What is Sake Matsuri Singapore?

In recent years, the popularity of sake has been expanding in countries around the world. Singapore is one such country, with sake exports to Singapore continuing to increase at a year-on-year rate of 1291 TP3T, including a record of approximately 2.3 billion yen in 2022.
In 2023, both the overall export value and volume were lower than the previous year, but the unit price exceeded 2,000 yen/ℓ, ranking second only to China.
Sake Matsuri Singapore, a sake festival, started in 2018. The scale of the festival has expanded every year, and this 8th Edition was held on May 10 for the trade fair for industry professionals and on May 11 and 12 for the retail fair for general guests, attracting approximately 2,700 visitors.

About 20 exhibitors, including Japanese companies and Singaporean corporations, gathered at the F1 Pit Building, the venue for the event. Each booth will have a lineup of 54 brands that are not available in Singapore and are popular in Japan.
As soon as the event started at 11:00 a.m., people came in waves, wine glasses in hand, to visit each booth and enjoy the tasting. The crowd was not only locals, but also a wide range of people, including Japanese living in Singapore, people in the food, beverage, and industry industries, and tourists.

One visitor commented, "This is a good opportunity to try as many sake tastings as possible and find out what kind of sake I like and what kind of sake I cannot buy in Singapore. Many visitors were seen purchasing sake they liked after the tasting when they left.

This time, a sake assemblage from Kyoto [...Assemblage Club] landed in Singapore for the first time.
This is a new sake created by three long-established sake breweries in Kyoto (Tokubei Masuda Shoten, Kitagawa Honke, and Matsui Shuzo) that transcends the boundaries of sake breweries. The sake is carefully selected from a large number of assemblages, and the theme is "Sake x World Gourmet" to challenge new tastes.
