We are pleased to announce that Mr. Tokubei Masuda, the 14th generation of Tokubei Masuda of Tsukitsukatsura and Masuda Tokubei Shoten, has been appointed as the Master Blender of the Assemblage Club.
A master blender is a technician, someone with extensive experience, skill, and knowledge who has the authority to determine taste.
So far, with the cooperation of three sake breweries in Kyoto (Tokubei Masuda Shoten in Fushimi-ku, Kitagawa Honke in Fushimi-ku, and Matsui Shuzo in Sakyo-ku), we have held study sessions on the added value and flavor possibilities of sake assemblage, and have confirmed that there are tastes that only assemblage can produce. We have confirmed that there are tastes that can only be produced by assemblage.
We aim to further elevate the taste of sake by clarifying the decision makers in taste.
